Myca Bunch, advertising sales representative for the Garden City Telegram, has been named vice president of marketing and membership by Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce president Reynaldo Mesa. She begins March 1.
“Myca brings a fresh perspective to the Chamber along with a very successful track record in creating and maintaining business relationships that will help sustain the Chamber as we move forward into a vibrant yet different in scope future,” said Mesa. “She will be a great addition to the team.”
At the Telegram, Bunch worked in advertising where in addition to her over 400-account responsibilities, she managed the sales team and the implementation of special publications and community events. She also worked on the Chamber’s 2011 Total Resource Campaign where she secured over $10,000 in sponsorships and new Chamber memberships.
Before moving to Garden City, she was the administrative secretary at the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Wichita where she was also the departmental liaison with the directors of Botanica, Century II Convention Center, and Wichita Ice Center.
While in Eagle. Colorado, Bunch served in the United States Air Force where she was the Command Section Executive Assistant. She directed communications with high ranking officers including Pentagon staff during plane crash recovery operations and was responsible for reporting all sensitive materials found at the crash site. She also served as administrative liaison to NORAD and U.S. Space Command officers.
Bunch studied psychology at the University of Maryland. She has three children, Kaci, 11, Sydney, 10, and Jacob, 2.
