For Aaron Novack, opening her new photography studio Jolies Images in Downtown Garden City seemed the perfect spot to showcase her passion for creating artistic imagery for individuals and families. The studio, located at 111 E. Chestnut, is in the former State Farm Insurance office.
“Jolies Images is French for ‘pretty pictures’, but it’s much more than that,” said Novack. “Anyone can take your picture in front of a backdrop but I try to capture your personality, point of view, or the feel of the occasion whether it is at my studio or on your chosen site.”
Novack is a certified professional photographer, the only one in Garden City and one of only 16 in Kansas, and has been providing photography services since 2005. A 2002 Fort Hays State University graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in business, she offers location and studio portraiture of seniors, children, families, and wedding photography and will add boudoir photography in late summer. She is currently working on a master photographer degree from the Professional Photographers Association (PPA).
“We have completely remodeled our new location and in addition to photography services, I also provide framing, canvas portraitures, albums, cards, and handbags. I think I’ve covered most things I either love to do or like to buy!” she said with a laugh.
In addition to being active in the PPA, Novack is also a member of the Wedding Portrait Photographers International and the Kansas Professional Photographers Association.
Married to Chad who teaches and coaches at Holcomb High School, they have a 14-month old son Eli and are expecting their second child in December.
